Wheelies, everyone loves watching a wheelie, and its even better doing one (so iv been told)
Ive got a CG125 and am practicing wheelies, but with not so great outcomes, the wheel only comes up a little and when it does come up a lot my feet slip off the foot rests. please give me some tips....... ____________________ Paul

lol, hmm this is a tricky one...you cant expect to wheely from any kind of speed at all, and the only wheely you can really hope to achieve is a clutch one which im guessing you're doing, rev the engine quite hard then dump the clutch and bring the wheel up, thats about it as far as i can get it, so anymore advice would be good |

Yer dandit im plannin on gettin a VFR400 in bout 4/5 months, got a poll going under new bikers then import or not to import, about the bike i want, tell me what you think

lol sounds good. yes but if you get a bigger bike and you do a wheelie, and you fall off you have more to loose than practicing on a small bike. i see it, if i perfect them on a CG i'll hopefully find it easier on a bigger bike when the time comes ____________________ Paul

CG's wheely easier if you stand at the back of the seat, or on the pillion pegs, lean back and pull the bars up as well as a bounce and clutch. ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

hey there
i have been trying wheelies on my gs125 from the lights, with very little success.
but yesterday i sat very far back and gave it a bit of a tug when i released the clutch and bingo!
it had never come up that high before and i wasn't expecting it so all i could see was sky! it didn't last very long as i ran out of revs, so im currently trying snicking it into 2nd gear.
carry on trying! you may ruin the clutch, but im sure its worth a tenner to learn to wheelie properly! ____________________ Now own a Fireblade!! Speed Limits? Bah! |

lol sounds great 8316, but im not sure i'll try at traffic lights, theres this massive resiviour near my house with really long stretches of open road, which is where i like to practice. yer people have aid you have to get it into second gear to keep it up and smooth but im still trying to get it up. lol ____________________ Paul

Did manage to wheelie my CG when I had it, give it some abuse and fasten something heavy to the pillion seat! ____________________ Suzuki RF 600 - The two wheeled Testarossa (Deceased)

screw you gaz, you accidently wheelied it because your lanky and heavy, and dropped the clutch to quickly!
And for the bike i can keep my speed at a constant higher speed than yours, you can just accelerate a little quicker than me!
Oi and leave the crash out of it! it weren't my fault, bloody volvo drivers!
Also at least i have a full licence and cheaper/better bike! lol

The bit about the wheelies is true...sadly.
I can keep my top speed, I'm just not sure I trust the bike (or the rider )
And the full licence bit is true. Not sure about your bike being cheaper though.
Everyone else argues about whos bike is best/most expensive, check us out!
Bloody volvo drivers indeed.

lol i wouldn't expect you to trust the bike, nah only joking! its a good little machine!
not sure how cheap yours is, mine works out at roughly 4p a mile. (created a spreadsheet and all to work out expenditure) lol
yer man we too cool for everyone else, our old school, cheap, bashed up motors. lol ____________________ Paul

I used to wheelie my CG by chucking it into 2nd at very low speed, standing on the pillion pegs and pinning the throttle, as you pass 15 odd mph give the bars a nice tug.
(Though, I did eventually flip it...) ____________________ -Zimma |

I used to jam my left foot in the grab rail (have to modify it slightly to enable you to do this), keep my right foot on the peg covering the brake slighty. Clutch up in 1st, tug the bars slightly, goes up surprisingly easily, balance point is quite easy to achieve but I never really got the chance to practice this Use your body weight to balance it aswell as the throttle/brake.
Takes a while to build up the confidence but you'll find it much easier to control than a standard wheelie sitting on the seat.
This was my result after about 4 or 5 attempts. |
