I've been after a cheep can for my hornet for a while, I’ve come across this one on e-bay. Its being sold by Dobles Honda who know a little about Hornets (they sponsor the nest) so I know it will fit.

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7934578283&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

Has anyone had experience with scorpion cans? What are they like? Overly loud or just nice? Wink
Thanks
J

on an sv650, they sound amazing.

go onto sv650.org and go to the goodies part where you can listen to a sample of different exhausts.

The bikes are different but surely it should give you an idea of how it should sound Smile

Apparently on Hornets they melt the paint on the rear cowl or something by being too close, if i had another chance to go for a can would probably go for a Micron, all the people on the Hornet cup use them and they fit the bike perfectly, my leovince is nice but i managed to get it half price, was £300 for an alloy one normally Shocked . Plus u can pick up Microns cheap through busters accesories with the Hondahornet.co.uk discount.

They're not overly loud, about right I think. The removable baffle option is handy as when removed it leaves all the legal markings and no nasty 'not for road us' markings. Mine melted the numberplate when I first fitted it, managed to rearrange the bracket and move the plate slightly further away so that it's less of a problem now.

If you want a cheap can get the Micron Oval S/S race can from Busters for £100 inc. link pipe etc.

That's NEW aswell, whereas the Scorpion is Used.

I had a Scorpion race can on the R6 I had, until some thieving toe rag nicked the can while I was parked.

They are nice throaty pipes, not the quietist in the world but you can get an aftermarket decibel killer which hushes it up a bit for town riding.
Some cans like carbon can co are pretty quiet until you pile on the revs but the scorpion was loud all the way through the rev range.

Dobles are pretty good but i would ask them to confirm your bike will not need setting up, they should know.
Scorpion will of course say its not needed but I had to have the R6 re-jetted to get rid of a flat spot after the can went on.

A non-tarty plain Micron Can with no fancy colours or giant logos plastered over it....besides, a 'tarty' can wouldn't work with your battered Hornet Razz
