 Posted: 02:02 - 04 Nov 2004 Post subject: Furry header pipes... |
 |
|
At present they are not rotting, but they aren't looking amazeing at the moment...
the can is perfectly fine, with some minor effort it would be as new, the the headers are getting distinctly mankey, slight but i suspect irreversable pitting has begun...
So a few questions
Whats the best thing to do with the headers now? With a means to look presentable, stay in service as long as possible...
Paint em black and ignore? herculan polishing effort? magic rust killer?
How exactly do you treat header pipes anyway? what do you poilsh them with? mine have scratches (which ive probably done) these are not helping the overall decay. they are not awfull but you don't need to look close to see they are less than perfect nowdays (its an all weather bike as well, doubt that helps).
theres allot of retouching the old dear could do with but not on the cards for a while, in the meantime i dont want to have a lump of brown fuzz with tyres happening
Any advice? ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |
