Hello everyone.
You see I had an accident and now whenever I steer the handle bar to the right it hits the fuel tank. When I steer to the left it stops right before the tank. I think its something to do with the bracet. Anyone know what's wrong? How much would the piece cost and how long would it take to replace it? Thanks a lot for all the help Thumbs Up .

Sounds like the bar is bent, or it may have just spun round a little on it's bracket - I don't know how they fit on your bike.

I dont know what system your bike uses for stopping the bars hitting the tank. M dads BMW had the same problem. It was caused by the bars being spun very quickly and hard (a car hitting it) and breaking off the restricting pin on the bottom fork crown. This allowed the bars to spin (to the left in his case) untill the hit something else to stop them, this was the tank. Hopefully this wont be your problem as it means a new bottom fork crown which tend not to be cheap.

Thanks a lot for the help, you wouldn't happen to know how much time would it take to replace the bottom fork? Mr. Green cheers!

Took 2 of us a full day. But we had to check that the forks hadnt been bent, check the frame wasnt bent, and replace the head bearings aswell (which is VERY difficult on BMWs). So I couldnt really say how long it would take.
