I have found them to run noticeably better with some oils over others. Not necessarily according to price either, see what it likes. My old Russian bike used to like Husqvana semi-synth chainsaw oil which was cheap as chips (good job when you are running at 20:1)
I also used to find some significant difference between brands of fuel, there is no good reason why this should be so. My Jawa preferrs Esso over BP fuel. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

I owned a Suzuki SB200 (similar to the old X5) a few years back
and used it for dispatch. Started off with normal 2-stroke from
the petrol garage but after getting advice from a friend I changed
to semi sythetic.
Semi costs a bit more but it lasts longer and less smoke, I was
given some silkolene Semi from a relative who races sidecars.
The performance was great.
Worth spending the extra.
However, as stinkwheel points out, try different oils and see
what you bike likes best. If you have problems, try changing
brands of fuel because again as pointed out, some bikes like
a particular brand of fuel.
Have fun. |
