I was commuting to work on my little aerox 100 (my Fazer is in the shop getting some cracked farings and smashed sidestand replaced) through the grim early morning traffic, feeling pretty bloody miserable.
Then, a chap on a sports 125cc whizzed passed me, and I started filtering properly to stay level with him, he'd inspired me. Before long we were joined by a large trail-type bike, and a crusty old yamaha diversion (or something similar).
To see 4 differing two wheeled peeps whizzing in and out of traffic, politely keeping out of each others way, and generally making cagers look like idiots in their queues, genuinely cheered me up in the morning. I guess, short lived as it was, I've had a taste of what a ride out with mates involves.
Cheers fellas, whoever you were! |

I'd agree too. On the worst traffic days of my work commute I try and use the bike. From redditch to walsall its a bitch of a bike ride with the poor quality motorway road surface, half of it on stilts, but that last 6 mile of filtering from m5 j1 to m6 j 10 makes it ALL worth while.
No better feeling. ____________________ Now what? |

Hmmmm, funny you should say that.
At the bike show on Sunday I got bullied into going on the road safety riding simulator thingy.... the idea is to get around a circuit without getting killed, which I did, very successfully (though apparently I swore quite a lot and was asked if I was that aggressive on the road), anyways, halfway round, there was a lorry parked, and the door opened, at which point I ducked.... Cracked everyone up who was watching. ____________________ Avast! Pirates ahoy!

Down to carelessness not maliciousness I'm sure, but have had fag butts bounce off my lid and have been squirted too. Never been spat on. That would be a wing mirror removal offence I'm afraid. |

I can take either of two routes into work each day -
1) The straight forward, not much traffic way
or
2) The busy, queued up, rail crossing infested way that see's me filtering almost the entire way to work....
I deliberately opt for #2 most mornings just to show the stuck-in-the-neverending-queue cars what they're missing out on - ooooooh the smugness of it all as I head up the queue every time the rail crossing halts the flow. The same commuters must see me day after day gently wafting past them - haha ____________________ James
