well, it was in the paper that a couple of people crashed into a stationary lorry on a three lane bypass near ulverstone (barrow) got a phone call on saturday morning telling me not to come in as the boss had been in a accdident,
now found out that my boss, and his daughter both in preston in icu, both with fatal head injuries.

Now the fatal signs have been put out asking for any witnesses, wich normally means there has been a death, i dont mean to be horrible but i hope its billy (my boss) as if hes killed his daughter hell go to prison.
The people in the wagon had left it there abandoned to go into a nearby pub, no hazzard lights, nothing.
and they were driving back from a day at work with me, and slammed into the back of it and flipped the car, they had to be cut away from the car and rushed to hospital.

sat here hoping there ok, only saw them last friday.
Oh and the accident happened at 7.20pm on friday night, a white ford mondeo.

Steve.

Mate, if the reports say "Fatal head injuries" it means they've died.

Fatal means death causing.

Sorry

RIP

Why would your boss go to prison if he's daughter is killed? Surely if he hit the back of an unmarked/unlit wagon he is not to blame? Unless he was drunk or under the influence of drugs or maybe disqualified from driving then he may go to prison? But i think your daughter dying whilst a passenger in your car is possibly a punishment that is beyond most people's comprehension! How do you even begin to deal with that? Shocked
My condolences to whoever is involved. Sad

You here about these things on the news and you think 'Oh that's bad' but it doesn't strike home as to how bad-until it's someone you know. Confused

technically, fatal means causing or capable of causing death, but it's almost always only used in the case of someone actually being dead

Fatal means that it has or will cause death, not MAY cause death - that would be 'potentially fatal injuries.

FATAL= Causing or capable of causing death.

FATALITY= An accident or occurance resulting in death.

Another example of how f**cked up our language is.

The police don't use it in that way though.
Fatal crash means there has been a fatality.

i Dont think i would hope it was anyone. I think IF he did kill his daughter that would be more than enough punishment. Something he would have to live with for the rest of his life.

Makes' me shudder at the thought.... Confused

Went to work today and got told that the boss (Billy) is ok, but has to be kept in for three months, franchesca (the passenger has a cracked skull from right eye to the center of her head at the back, there keeping her in a coma untill the swelling goes down.
Oh and also jasper is in hospital with 3 broken legs and a jaw injury of some sort (jasper is the dog) im glad there both still alive, hopefully she will pull through for the familys sake.
