I need a new can for my hyosung after the original one got scratched to buggery. I e-mailed the place where I got the bike from and they think it will cost me £157.89 which seems a bit steep to me. Its only the very end of the exhaust system that needs replacing.

I don't think I'll bother replacing it until I come to sell the bike, incase I have another accident. But I'd like to know how much it will cost me just to get a standard can that will fit, and how difficult it will be to fit. It does look fairly simple as there are 4 bolts that connect it to the rest of the system. So I'm hoping it's just a case of swapping them over, although I'm probably being a bit nieve there.

Any help on buying and fitting new cans would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Very Happy Thumbs Up

Hi

Quite cheap for a standard can really. Think a Bandit one is around £400, for example. Even cheap and tacky race cans start at around £100.

Probably quite easy to fit a new one.

All the best

Keith

It is just a case of a simpley undoing the four bolts holding the can on, remove old can, put new can on and then put the bolts back in. Thumbs Up

Yeah thats all there is to it Malb, just undo the 4 allen bolts that are holding the can to the pipe, there is a gasket between that joint so be careful not to damage it,as you're bike is new you should be able to reuse the gasket and then undo the bracket that holds the can to the foot peg bracket, make a note of how the rubber and metal washers come apart though and thats it,simple really. OK cheers guys I think that I'll be able to handle it. I think I might leave replacing it until before I come to sell it.
