This is gonna sound like a stupid q-but when you guys booked your CBT's- did you ring up individual places or did you use some sort of central ..........place............which told you where your nearest centre was???

Also, did you purchase bikes before or after passing your CBT's.

I just went to the local garages and asked them. One trainee place operates out of the back of the Honda Garage, so I just went with them.

Have a look through the page for your area on begin-motorcycling.co.uk and you can search on yell.com, or you could be really old fashioned and go look in the physical yellow pages directory Razz.

I waited until after my CBT to get a bike as before my CBT is hadn't ever riden a motorcycle before, so wasn't actually 100% sure that I was going to continue wanting to. No real point in getting one much before your CBT unless you find one which is a very good price, as it will just be there as a temptation for you to have a quick practise at riding it, after all just going up and down your road isn't going to be a problem, and it's most likely not going to be but it's still not a good idea really.

Say where you are from and maybe someone could recommend somewhere. A good centre would make the training a lot more enjoyable - as well as making you safer.

Oh, yeah I also bought a bike before my CBT. I decided I wanted a bike so I bought one. That way I had the motivation to book in my CBT.

Personally, (and I did) i'd get a bike after the CBT.
That way, you can try a couple out and see what you like.

Good advice- either way Smile

I made a preliminary booking for the CBT. I asked about bikes and they said they could order one in. Failing that-i could see what's there.
