Is it any different to the normal car theory test? I picked up a theory revision book just for motorcyclists, and i was wondering if the questions are especially different? I want to book my theory soon, so any help is appreciated Thumbs Up

Some are yes, have a try at the mock one on the DSA website but other than the questions which are car specific or bike specific it's the same, as the questions asking you what a sign means or what you should do in a situation are going to be the same answers.

I got the Bike Theory Test book too. Mines booked for next Wednesday. I think most of the q's are the samer but there are a few that are different- ie- lifesaver glances etc... Most seems to be general knowledge but there are a few things to learn.

The questions are more bike specific, such as wet weather handling, bike controls etc, interspersed with generic road sign stuff and other road user questions. In other words, it's a piece of piss, as long as you revise thoroughly (the format is like Millionaire almost).

Hazard Perception is also generic between cars/bikes, as you still get the old dears stepping out in front of you and chavs kicking footballs/gobbing at you whether you're on 2 or 4 wheels. It's pointless really, as you never feel 'in tune' with goings-on looking at them on a PC as you would when actually out on the road.

I think about two or three of the questions I got asked were motorcycle specific, including one question about the legal dimensions of a trailer. Shocked There was something about when to use the kill switch as well. Basically it's the same as the car test though.
