I only noticed this yesterday after my moped got caught in the rain normally it'd be in my garage.

Anyways it's a Piaggio NRG with a front disk and a rear drum and like I was saying since yesterday it has been making a rubbing noise, It's not consistent almost about 1/3rd of the wheel like on a pushbike when the wheel is buckled.
Also when I'm braking at speed (well we're talking about a 50cc here so by speed I mean about 50) I hear a kind of buzzing noise coming from the front brakes.

Anyone know what this could mean?

I'm sure most of us can come up with one reason or another for your problem but we are talking brakes here, somewhat important.

If you cannot solve the problem yourself and you are concerned I would take it to a mechanic, just for peace of mind.

I think I must have bent the fork or something slightly maybe over these damn speedbumps round here.
Do you think it's still safe to use.. As I doubt I can foot the bill atm?

If it still breaks alright, then yes, if it doesnt then no.

The bearings in my front wheel on my 50 had gone so my front wheel was not set right which caused the break shoes to wear uneven. When the bearing were replaced my front break was set properly but because of the uneven wear they rub, but they break fine and the guy who fixed it also did the mot so it must be safe of it wouldnt of passed and he would of told me he had to get new break shoes.

Yeah it brakes fine and I cannot notice any decrease in peformance apart from the noise (well I can only here that when going at slow speeds.)

Could this be a problem with the bearings on my bike too? As I'm only assuming it's the speedbumps because I think the council round here (Surrey) get so much money from us they don't know what to do with it, If they're not digging the road up for no good reason they're building mountains in the middle of them Rolling Eyes

Hopefully I'll be able to get it fixed soon, Was your problem costly?

EDIT: Would this fail me on an MOT even tho it seems fine while riding?
