The AA transfered my policy to carole nash and it's up for renewal.
I had the paperwork in today and my policy is £100 more than
last year. Found out that the extra £100 was for the breakdown
service.

Do I have to have this breakdown cover?? I am already with the
RAC and I'm happy with them but don't want breakdown cover
from carole nash.

Would it not be best to ask them tomorrow morning as they will be able to give a much more accurate answer.

Shouldn't think you have to have it. My policy with Carole Nash had the cover thrown in free (though I pay for it indirectly).
Had to use the Carole Nash cover the other day when stuck in central London after my rear brake hose split (only 5 years old and 70 miles after a Honda service). Was really quick and well organised, even took my bike to the shop the next day. 10/10 for service...

Yep, Carole Nash give me the breakdown cover at no extra charge too. It is pretty good, about the same standard as relay cover with the AA. You should check this out, I know plenty of people with CN and none of them pay extra for the breakdown cover.

I just recently took out the Carol Nash policy and the EU breakdown cover was automatically added, not as an extra. I do remember reading in the booklet however that it was worth £100. For once that's something I can believe as the AA charge about £80 for 8 days EU cover.

I have found out today that the breakdown service is part
of my policy and I don't have the option to cancel it. So I'm
stuck with breakdown service I didn't ask for nor want.

This means I have to cancel my RAC membership thanks
to those fucking cunts at CN.

I NO LONGER HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE MY BREAKDOWN
SERVICE, IT'S A FUCKING CRIME.

As you can see I'm not happy about it so I'm getting in touch
with a few people, riders digest, MCN, channel four .....

Why not just shop around for insurance at a lower price? Got to be a lot simpler than trying to persuade Carol Nashe to give you a unique policy.

Surely it has to be at least worth phoning around, never had to look into get Courier insurance but I can't really believe that Carol Nash are the only company who will do it.

The policy is with Norwich Union, sadly I can't deal with them
direct so I have to have a broker. CM are one the few who
deal with Couriers, as I've had this policy for years I don't
want to lose it so I will have to put up with it.

If it was insurance for normal use there would be no problem.

Ermm, is there anything you gain by not changing insurance company? You can use the NCB from your Carol Nash policy with other brokers.
