When the throttle is open at whatever speed I here a sort of keys jangling in the wind noise not harsh like a banging just a rustling almost yet when I shut the throttle it's gone.

Any Ideas as I can't work out where its coming from as it doesnt happen when Im not riding.

Are the plugs ok? Have you recently started using a different brand of petrol?

Nope no different fuel.

I know Im in need of a new chain and sprocket.

What do you reckon to being a valve or something???

I have a full service coming up should they check the valves or do I have to mention them need looking at

If it doesn't happen when you're not riding, I'd be more inclined to look at loose things rubbing or rattling. If you've got a centre stand, make sure it's not rubbing on the chain - mine did that and made weird noises.

Full service will include valves if it's the full service that includes valves, and that depends on what mileage it's at. Your handbook or Haynes has a breakdown of what's to be done at which service.

Well the rattling is what first made think somehting was flapping in the wind, but it stops soon as I close the throttle

EDIT: No centre stand either

my first though would have been the chain also but I wouldn't be suprised if the timing chain tensioner is not opperating to it's full potential I suggest closer inspection to be sure. I have heard of tensioners needing replacing on several bikes and it can be a costly experience to ignore it
