Today was absolutely freezing, and my winter gloves do a decent enough job even though today I might as well not have worn anything. Does anyone put anything below thier winter gloves such as thermal gloves or wooly gloves or use anything else like mitts/heated grips.

What do you bike commuters do to keep the hands warm in winter?

Motocross brush guards, bodge to fit. Keeps the wind off.

you could just do what i have done get some muffs and heated grips and with the gloves aswell you get nice toasty warm hands. OK you end up looking like a plum but at least you are a warm dry plum

Klan heated inner gloves. Good stuff, they heat down to the finger tips and are loads thinner than the wrap over heated grips I used to use.

These are the ones if anyones interested. Got mine off Ebay from Giali who are the resellers, they were cheaper than the website but only come up every so often.

https://www.giali.com/mod/product/id_prd/98

They bolt straight on to the battery terminal, have decent waterproof connectors and an on/off switch.

Heated grips are worth having, fitted some last winter and will fit them to future bikes to keep warm in winter. Thumbs Up

Saturday

Sunrise 7:36 (GMT)
Sunset 16:04 (GMT)
Day 3°C
Night -6°C
Visibility very poor

Ice tomorrow then... Rolling Eyes The maps are all very nice showing nothing but sunshine and all, but sun's not much use when there's an inch of snow. I imagine my bike will be well and truly frozen to the ground now too, the cover's going to be one big icicle. Oh, the joys of winter motorcycling. Neutral

Edit: Not all bad though, big up to the air cooled bikes. None of this anti-freeze business to worry about. Smile

I have froze my bollocks off the last 2 days. I somehow don't think my C90 will take too kindly to the idea of having heated grips fitted though. Anyone got any other ideas to keep hands warm in winter?!

When you get really cold, warm the gloves up by taking them off and sticking them over the exhaust, so the zorst gasses are going into the gloves. Good for a quick fix after much numbness. Also, if possible, find a place on the bike you can reach while say on it that gets warm. Usually most of the engine will get toasty so just stick your free hand down there to defrost.

Or get yourself a pair of these babies.

They make you look like a vulcan, but they don't half keep you hands warm. They are a little annoying though till you get used to them. Smile
