Just to point out that its an MBK Nitro Scooter and is not using NOS, Nitro is just the model name. It is running a Hebo Manston Cylinder though, which is what makes it so quick.

That's an old video. Quite nippy for a ped but still sounds like a hair drier Smile .

Erm, My scooter has got a 70cc MHR cylinder, Malossi Variator (made no difference), Malossi race clutch (made it slower), Malossi gearing, Technigas 70 pipe, Big bore reed blocks... Oh, and the 21mm carb (which needs setting up Confused )

It can top about 60 - 65 now on the flat. But its began to get real slugish, i think its the cold weather getting into the air filter!

I was after a boost bottle but Ive heared they are pigs to set up.

I also want some Renthal bars for it!...

If anything, I'd say that Technigas pipe is holding your bike back. It's more of a midrange, average performer, hence the lower price, lower production quality. They don't perform very well at high rpms, which is where you're going to make all of your power. The rest of your setup is excellent and has a lot more potential than that exhaust will allow. Replace your current variator weights with lighter ones and shoot for an MHR pipe, if possible.

As for cold weather affecting performance: It's actually the complete opposite! Cold air is denser than warmer air, allowing more mixture to be sucked into the cylinder.

DM is totally right Thumbs Up - cold air is denser so more can get into cylinder = more fuel = more violent explosion = more power.

Simple.
