PC problem

when i try to view some pictures on here, i cant it shows me a square with a red cross in the middle, whats this and what do i need so i can view them, can anyone help me????

Means that the picture no longer exists more than likely, normally because its linked externally and has since been removed/deleted.

So there is nothing you can do to view it.

Or your Internet temp files could be nearly full try emptying them.

On IE , Tools, Internet options....... ,Under the 'general' tab On internet temp files click 'delete files'

My computer sometimes wont show me pictures because the firewall thinks they are adverts and tries to block them.

If you have a firewall, you may need to fiddle about with the settings a bit, don't ask me how because I don't really know much about this kind of thing.

If you've got windows xp, go into tools/internet options/advanced and make sure that show pictures has a green tick next to it. I had this enabled with service pack 1, but when I downloaded service pack two it turned it off as it could be a "vulnerability"...bill gates needs shot....

right, this happens to me sometimes... Are you on about pictures on the internet or pictures on your hard drive?

just on web pages. if its on your hard drive, might have something to do with a corrupt file or missing link to the file (its kind of on your hard drive,and not, kind of, microsoft crap)

It may not work. But if you right click the picture and press "Show picture" it sometimes bring the picture up. If not then I can only see it being somthing to do with your Internet settings or if you have a security programme on your PC...
