You can get a washing liquid (like a softener) designed for textile bike clothes. Can't think of the name but H Gericke sell it |

Dunno what you can do with leathers cos I don't own any (hang 'em outside for a bit maybe?), but here's a tip for textile-wearers (it also works for trainers).
Wrap them tightly in a plastic bag, then put them in the freezer overnight. Take them out the next day & allow them to dry naturally - outside is best but just on a hanger in the house will do.
The cold destroys all the bacteria you see, and it's those that make the smell. ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

If you've got lining in your bike clothing, this tends to absorb all the sweat and other nasty gunk which your body exudes. You can wash the (removable) lining on a 30 centigrade delicate cycle making sure you don't use fabric softener, bleach, tumble dryer, dry cleaner etc etc.
You can probably get away with 'washing' the main textile outer layer with a (nail)brush and some water to be honest. It gets enough crap off for it not to be noticeable and they shouldn't really smell anyway.
As I've a naked bike I've noticed the fronts of my trousers and boots get caked in road grime if I ride in the wet. I just scrub the trousers down with a nailbrush and water, and use a rough cloth to buff most of the crap off the boots, before applying liberal amounts of Kiwi wax polish. Works for me. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Hi all, my previous texiles i had for a couple of years and had no wiffy probs with them(shame i gave them away to a poor biker mate)anyway i think the smell comes not from the inner lining but the waterproof seal inside the jacket some kind of rubber time to invest in some leathers (me thinks) thanks for your replies and suggestions |

Haven't seen his pics but he sounds like a prime candidate
To do something like that is
1=your doing it for a bet
2=your on drugs or pissed
3=you are a complete nutter
the latter sounds more like it |
