I was having some fun on some round-abouts yesterday, almost getting my knee down, only had jeans on Confused so didn't want to get my knee touching Shocked . Anyway i hit a massive pot hole while i was leant right over, the bike wobbled pretty bad and tried to throw me off. I thought i was coming off but i managed to hold on, it all happened so quick.

That was close so i'm going to be a bit more careful now, anyone else had a similar experience with pot holes Evil or Very Mad .

Pot holes are a pain.

First theirs the big hole in the road that tries to knock you off... then theres the cheap builder bodge job of filling it with a bulge of tarmac creating a disconcerting hump to roll over thats the same colour as the road.

Theres a number to report them to, i think if you ring into your local council and complain then IF (heaven forbid) there is any accident on it it becomes their responsibility... since they had warning and were aware of the problem.

Maybe its an idea to call even if you dont go there again... so another poor bugger who drops on it wont be left in the lurch.

Its best to check the surface is smooth before you start playing knee down anywhere!

There is one pot hole on the A5 near the horse shoe pass that catches me out every time. You can't see it as you approach and without fail you always bang your bollocks on the tank when you go over it.

Not like that, but managed to hit several holes in the road today. Those small circular manhole-like covers that appear to have sunk three or four inches into the ground. Bloody hell don't they rattle the fairings!? Shocked

I had this nice experience where my scooter wheel fit just in the pot hole and threw me off breaking my leg. What a treat.

Pot holes are worse on scooters cos the wheels are smaller... Shocked
I hit a pot hole about a month ago and it was that much of a knock, It knocked my wheels out of line, and also totally fucked my front shock... Sad
Luckily I had a spair pair of forks from my first speedfight...
I still need to get a new front shock though.. At the moment Ive just tightened the pivot bolt right up on the swing arm so its restricting the movement so the wheel dosent rub on the arch...

Ben...

A pair of cheap bike trousers isn't going to be much more than a pair of jeans. You are going to get a big holes in your jeans, followed by your knee if you aren't wearing bike trousers.
I have mashed up my knees many times (usually on mountain bikes) and never mind the initial pain, the not being able to walk properly for a couple of weeks is always annoying.

Just a though, I have done a similar thing. Wasn't trying to get my knee down, but didn't have my bike trousers on and found out I could make my NSR go sideways with a tap of rear brake on the slimy roads at the time.
By the time I had got to Henley on Thames I was having some fun, unfortuntely they take a different line to road repaires in Henley: they just put up 'failed road' signs!
Luckily it was a very small roundabout and I didn't hurt myself really, only broke a few bits on my bike.
