I have started to polish the wheels on my ZXR, IMO it looks amazingly good already and its only half done. I'm using the instructions that used to be on yams site (not that its hard Smile )
I will post some pics when 100% Very Happy

I polished the alloy rims on my supermoto. Soul destroying when you look at it a week later and it is back to how it was before you started. Polishing alloy is only for those who keep thier bike in a garage and only ever ride it on dry summer days IMO.

What stinkwheel said. I cleaned, or attempted to clean, some polished wheels once. A lot of effort still left a slightly tarnished finish.

But then I'd say the same thing about most tarty bits (for those wanting to look at their bikes, not ride them) Razz.

(Watch out, we'll get accused of being a negative BCF cliche now Razz )

I've got bare metal alloy wheels with stainless rims, if that makes sense. (Can see in my profile). They're a cakewalk to keep clean, the only part that annoys me really is the chain grease side. White spirit does the job if it bothers me, which it doesn't in this kind of weather.

I generally give my rims a going over with white spirit to remove the grit, don't really bother polishing as sooner or later - it'll get dirty again. White spirit works fine for me Thumbs Up
