Which gears are you needing or the entire thing?

I have (somewhere:lol:) a complete TL1000R '99 gearbox which I had replaced as it was jumping out of 1st gear as the dogs were worn, the other gears weren't jumping but were fairly rounded, had some life left in them but as I was paying the shop to replace first I got the others done rather than have to get the others done a few months later.

TL1000R gearboxes in mint condition will be hard to come by second hand due to the fact the TL has a habit of going through them.

£300-400 is very optomistic, if you can find a complete gearbox in good condition secondhand that is about right but if you can't (which is more than likely) you're looking at much more than that and the labour for it being fitted, expect a total of more than four times that.

It's for my old man's bike Ste. No worries about labour charges, he's doing it all himself, been a nightmare cos he's had to take the lump out and that took him an entire weekend being as he's doing it on his own. Anyway, if I remember rightly it's 3rd that's gone and I think he said the selector dog has sheared off of top as well.

How much you looking for your one? Is it complete, all the gears OK etc?

Cheers anyway mate

The gears are not all okay, first is dead, the other five are still usable but the dogs on them are fairly rounded off and have a bit of life left in them, not sure how much, but they're much rounder than they should be. Will have a think about how much for it this evening, not going to be much really as it's not got that much life in it really, will post up later this evening with a number. Thumbs Up

Cheers Ste, I spoke to him earlier about it and he can use most of the bits from the old box to try and mash one together I guess. Think he's getting pissed off having a bike sat there that he cant use to be honest

Thanks again

Will dig it out this weekend, would sell it for £50, which is all 6 gears and the two gear selector forks, first gear isn't useable, well it is in theory but not really, the other five gears were working fine but the dogs were rounder than they should be, got some life left in them (was running fine in 2nd-6th) but can't say how much. Will send you a PM probably Sunday evening once I've dug them out. Thumbs Up

Once again, thanks a lot mate. I spoke to him earlier about it and says he'll have it, so it's just a case of arranging a good time to perhaps come and pick it up or whatever

Cheers

TBH it may be cheaper in diesel to just drive down if that'd be OK with you, what with our post round here.

Entirely up to you mate, obviously he'd pay the postage but I doubt it'd be much less than the diesel would cost.

Anyway, let me know what you wanna do mate, cheers again

Yeah, had a look for it over the weekend, it's in here somewhere and could find it, it will turn up at some point, not likely to be any time soon I'm afraid. Sorry 'bout not being able to find it, will let you know if it is found any time soon but I don't expect it will. Sad
