It would be a nice little winter project.
And it would also make a fast CBR125.

Well they are both liquid cooled so room for a radiator, in theory the NSR top-end should be smaller as no valve gear. Mountings aren't difficult to fabricate.
Check for issues with frame design (does one or both of them use the engine as a stressed member? This could be a major complication.)
There is however the whole electricks thing too. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

It would be a lot of work, probably not best as a 'first' project if that was the case.
My current 'dream' project is to stick a 500cc mx engine into a GP250 chassis (ie Honda RS250 et'al) and use it on the road. (Preferably without a speedo, so I don't notice the stupid speeds I'd be going everywhere.) Only put the minimum of road bits on and we're talking under 100kg wet weight with the possibility of up to 100hp (though I wouldn't want it that heavily tuned at all).
Anyway enough rambling dreams; NSR might be a bit slower (about 5-10mph top end maybe), but has better midrange I believe; which will make it more 'useable' and faster when not being thrashed (if that's possible ). |
