Hello all! Cool

I have recently been thinking about purchasing a Honda NSR125 in the future (possibly in the late spring/early summer).

However, my problem is this. I took my CBT on my speedfight. Now as you all know, a speedfight is plain old twist'n'go and an NSR has gears. Do i need to retake my CBT on a geared bike to allow me to ride the NSR or can i just buy one and learn to manage the clutch and gears by myself (and with help from my dad as he rides a bike too).

Thanks Razz

Nope. A cbt done on any machine suffices whether it has gears or not. A little bit silly I think, as do many others.

So, you can just move straight on up.

At 17 your only allowed to ride a 125 on a CBT that's restricted to something like 14.6hp (Dont quote me).

It will/ should be restricted to 14.6 bhp. To get it derestricted legally you need a full licence. Even then you are restricted to 33bhp.

Indeed. I'll be completing my CBT on a twist'n'go for convenience because I was doing it with another person who didn't have a geared bike. I have decided not to take my CB125T out though until I have done another full day of training on a geared bike. Paranoid? Perhaps, but I will be much more comfortable that way.

As you have been riding for a lot more than a day Wink and your dad can help you out you should be fine.
