As the title really
Whats a worse caracteristic?
Solid engine with good power and a predictable curve of steady power = more controll but less supprises than an episode of friends.
revy/ old farty engine with little power but makes allot of (good) noise and the power it has comes in short blasts = more fun, filled pants.
Just wondered really, predicatable power or blasts of madness?
Another thing, is there any such thing as too much power? have you ever looked at a bike and thought "i'd never use all that 150bhp" i mean this for your every day bike... or would you get the most fearsome bike you could afford? ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Hi
To an extent a combination of the 2. Blasts of power are good fun, but on the lanes I use to get to work it would be a pain on a daily basis. But linear predictable power just just too boring. The FZR isn't bad, with useable power up to 7000 and then it wakes up a bit. Could maybe do with more low end power, but not at the expense of the top end zing.
150hp could be fun, but again it would be a liability on a daily basis. The Bandit is just no fun on the tight lanes, and was really more pleasant to ride in that situation when it was standard.
All the best

Short bursts. QED
Yamaha Diversion 600. 60bhp, 125mph, 400lb.
Smooth, steady, predictable 4-cylinder engine. Boring as feck.
Kawasaki GPZ500s. 60bhp, 125mph, 375lb
Lumpy at low revs, flatspot at 6,500rpm, goes mental at 8k. Quite fun actually. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
