Heloo to all, i am new on these forums.

I have a Peugeot speedfight 100 X-race and would like to know how to pull a wheelie. I've heard you place you feet firmly down, sit at the back, lean back and pump the throttle.

If i was to do this, what would stop me falling off the back if i pumped to hard? Is it even posible to fall off the back?

Thanks

ps, no im not a dirty chav for owning a scooter.

Pulling wheelies on scooters is silly. The build quality is generally poor, and they have a relatively short lifespan from normal use, nevermind you abusing the bike by wheelying it.

I would not advise it at all. Use it to get road experience, not for dicking around on the roads on.

I am only trying to help you. If you start wheelying your ped you will only knacker bearings and probably drop it in the process. If you really want to wheelie it just ride along slowly, sit right back on the seat, open the throttle quickly and pull the bars up. Just about getting to the balance point. But don't bring it to me when you break it.

fucking hell people.. it's a bike you can pussy foot around and ride it like a girl or you can do wheelies and enjoy riding it...

Yes if you do it enough you'll probably fall off, but who gives a shit if your actually enjoying it Rolling Eyes

I don't know how to wheely a ped as I've never ridden one but I'm sure someone who's not a safety nazi will come along and tell you in a bit Thumbs Up

Just practice, take it slowly, don't rush things and practice more.. and ignore the safety nazis Razz

The most important thing is to cover the back brake, this is what puts the front back on the road if you start to go too far.

[mock]

To wheelie a moped, buy a honda C50, press down on gearlever with foot, wind revs up, remove foot.

To wheelie any other moped, sit right back on seat, trail legs behind, wind throttle wide open, tug on handlebars.... Land on arse, pick up moped, phone breakers for new plastics, taillight and numberplate. Clean gravel out of skin, visit JD sports for new trakky bottoms, endure mocking from mates. Repeat until wallet empty or skin gone.

[/mock]

Ok mate il tell you, get moving too about 5mph sat nicely back on the seat (almost on the back)

and then in one smooth motion, push the front of the ped down and pull back up whilst pulling the throttle quickly and smoothly too full this should bring the front up, it worked on mine!

make sure you cover the rear brake as if it lifts too far you can smoothly use the back brake to bring the front down! Very Happy

hope that helps, now go find a car park! Smile

Ermm, if you do wheelies then sooner or later it's going to go wrong and require a fair bit of £££ to fix. No matter how careful or good rider you consider yourself it will go wrong at some point.

I don't believe he asked for peoples views of doing wheelies on a ped, I would hope that he is quite aware of the risks and possible implications of wheelies before going round asking for help doing them.

I must add that the pushing down on the front of the bike is to create a "bounce" to help the front lift

and the getting too 5-7mph bit is too make sure the clutch is engaged so you can get the power through the transmission quickly.

any problems after trying my method, (which worked on my speedfight 100cc)

start small and practice if its your thing!

I wouldn't have thought it'd be possible to wheely a scooter... Guess i'm wrong though.

I've had a few attempts on my CG125, and it really doesn't like it. In first gear going slow-mid speed, it needs revving so high the engine sounds like it's going to blow up! And even then it's hit and miss as to whether the wheel comes up or not when i dump the clutch. Still, i managed it for the first and second times yesterday and as i came back down the road after u-turning, i saw a young lad on a paperround who was grinning almost as much as i was Very Happy

If a scooter can be powerwheelied, can someone give me any advice to help get the wheel up on my bike more easily? Oh, and how likely am i to knacker the chain/sprockets doing this?

I wouldn't be trying to learn to wheelie on a CG125, it is possible but the videos of people doing wheelies on them didn't learn to wheelie on a CG125. You basically need to clutch the front up and then balance it there. To clutch it up in first gear going about walking pace to start with pull the clutch in, rev it and then drop the clutch. Repat doing this until you're managing to rev it enough for the front to come up when you drop the clutch. You'll also want to be sitting back and leaning back and to bounce the front a bit to help. Onces you've got it up to keep it there you need to basically balance it as the CG doesn't have the power to bring it back up if you let it drop even a little bit.

So in short, you need to be very good at wheelie to do a wheelie on a CG125.

It'll put a bit of additional wear on the chain and sprocket, the clutch and also the head bearings & wheel bearing when the front wheel hits the ground again.

i learn loads from wheelying the sr250 when you have no power you have to be right up and its the first thing i 12'd as i dont care about it Laughing

Peds have got to be great for wheelys with the hand rear brake, never had a go but guessing you need to lean back like a bitch Wink

Watching Podges video, he just jumps on the very back of the seat and the front wheel pops up Thumbs Up Laughing

Ste, nothing completely wrong with learning to wheely on a CG125, you /have/ to get it up higher so you'll learn a lot more.. but it's harder to initially get the hang of it with little power.. but if you've already got a CG125 then don't be put off.. go find a car park and practice on it Cool

Nice light little 125's are great to wheelie. The MZ was dead easy to get up.

If you are that careful you will never learn how to wheelie properly. Finding the balance point involves a lot of mistakes and probably some accidents. Well I came off a few times before I could get it right anyway. If you are that worried about damaging your bike why don’t you find an old cheap one you can practice on. It’s easy to find old cheap bikes for spares or repairs. Do you have room to keep it though?

Laughing May as well lift the front wheel up in the air and walk it along! Like you used to do with your push bike!

Laughing Didn’t mean you personally, just meant in general. I don’t see the point of dragging your feet along either as you may as well put stabilisers on. And I agree with the push bike thing. Way too much hard work!
