I have just bought an 'S' reg gs500 off ebay for £1000 from a dealer. Said its in excellent condition and he's got 100% feedback so I fingers crossed its good! Very excited now - hope I can remember how to ride! Very Happy Thanks for all the advice Thumbs Up

Try ebay, i got a great bargain the other day,

a ER-5 with less than 8000 miles on a 2001 Y plate in good condition also!

Cost me...£1000

yeah i'm on it everyday - its practically an obsession! i've bidded on quite a few bikes but most seem to go for more than i'm prepared to pay or last minute (well second) bidders sneak in! i'll keep looking though - thanks for the advice.

Did that on a HPI chip for my mates car, we bidded in last 10 seconds, some bastard bidded in last 3 :O.

I've got a ZZR 600 for sale, could squeeze down to £1400 (bought it from a dealer for £2000 about 7 mths ago) so this may be a little outside your budget. Not a dealer sorry Thumbs Down so would prefer cash, but maybe cheque with clearance?

yeah, it seems like you've got a bargain there. i've seen some bikes that have gone for more on ebay than what's recommended in mags like UBG etc. but without having a good look at them its difficult to know just how much to bid up to.

i passed my test on an ER-5, wouldn't mind one at all - they're great bikes!

I usually look at www.adtrader.co.uk for cheap bikes. If you don't mind paying the charges you could see if you can pay pal or similar someone the money for the extra on your credit card.... a £1500 dealer bike would probably be under £1000 in a private sale anyway.
