Was on biketrader the other day when I found this bike:
https://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WWW/bikes_search.asp?modelexact=1&make=SUZUKI&model=GS&ccappr=500&min_pr=75&max_pr=&postcode=m43+6js&miles=100&max_records=50&source=2&sort=3&search=SEARCH

It's the first on on the list (should be). Full fairings, purple + pink colours.

I've been to see it and was amazed to find that it does look as it is in the picture, it really is in good condition (cosmetically). Are there any known problems with older GS500s that I should look out for? Still seems to good to be true. 600 quid + 200 to restrict.

The only problem with older GS500's is that they corrode very easily. Engine reliability is a strong point though, and you shouldn't really have a problems aslong as it doesn't smoke or rattle too much (they do rattle abit when cold or when excessivly warm, as this is called Cam end float and I have yet to find a GS500 that doesn't display this).

Just look out for corrosion and rust on the swing arm, frame and headstock and make sure the forks aren't pitted as if they are they will rip through fork seals.

Overall a very robust and good bike for newbies, and they really aren't that bad restricted.
