I know this has probably been convered somewhere else, but I am about to leave to go to work and don't have time to search (honest, I'm not just lazy!)

Anyhoo, I have just bought Dodsi's SR125 of him, and since I won't be riding it for a couple of weeks, the least I can do is give it a good clean!

So.... what cleaning products do people recommend for an all over sparkle?

Also, what brands of oil, brake fluid, chain degreaser etc. do people recommend (none of them need topping up yet, but I would sooner get it now).

Cheers in advance!

Castrol GTX 10W40, or any 10W40 is fine. Brake fluid is brake fluid, anything that's Dot 4 should do as far as I know. White spirit + toothbrush is very good for chain degreasing. I personally use Castrol chainwax, or the emergency can of 3 in 1 with PTFE (whatever that is). I might consider just dousing my chain in engine oil every fortnight and not having to clean the greasy sticky goop off.

Windolene is quite good for polishing, though tbh, washing up liquid (or turtlewax) in a big bucket of hot water and a big sponge does me fine. WD40 is good for degreasing things too.

Mmmm, Guinness
Discovering the delights of Hammerite and a 3/4" brush. Very Happy

Polytetrafluoroethylene. Slippier than a very slippy thing with a degree in slippy.
