Just curious to see what you wear when you're riding.

Personally if i'm just popping down to a mates, or up the shops for a mag or a paper i'll just wear whatever i've been wearing that day (i.e: jeans, boots, standard winter coat), but if i'm going for a long ride i'll wear my leather, but i'll still just have jeans and boots on.

So?

Thankyou.

I wear either my jeans or leathers, Col's wrecked Sidi boots (with toe sliders covering the wrecked bits), layers depending on how cold it is, a buff, my jacket, gloves and my lid.

And very thick socks!!! Smile

I ALWAYS wear protective gear when riding. Just because it's a short journey doesn't mean you are any less likely to be hit!

In summer I switch between leathers and textiles. I like to wear leathers as much as possible as psychologically they feel like they are going to offer more protection, but textiles can be cooler in summer!

In winter I generally wear textiles all the time as with inserts they are warmer than leathers and also means I don't need to carry waterproofs in case of a downpour!

Just a babys bib to keep the wind off my chest Laughing

Textile jacket and jeans and bike boots should be the minimum for everyone with sense.

Textile Jacket and trousers, both ARE waterproof.

Sidi Boots, though can't wear them til after christmas Razz Just hope I don't get hit.

Also got some new gloves, they are really nice and of all things people usually neglect gloves the most...They seem to forget that if you fall your natural reaction is to put your hands down. Rolling Eyes

For the winter I wear Cordura trousers, Boots, Textile Jacket, 2 Neckwarmers, Winter gloves, Cotton gloves. In summer, generally boots jeans and jacket. Got a pair of leathers at the tail end of the summer so I will probably be wearing those next summer.

Textile jacket (with liner when cold), textile trousers over jeans, boots, winter gloves. Neck tube on real cold days.

Summer (all 3 days of it) will see me in leather jacket, jeans, boots, summer gloves.

Textile jacket, jeans, safety boots from my old job, gloves and neck warmer when really cold. Will be getting textile pants and some good boots when my xmas overtime comes in.

Usually just a pair of Akito gloves, armoured RST textile jacket, and sometimes a pair of HUGE Sidi Moto-X boots, usually just my trainers though.

Even just popping to my Mum's I always put on my Textile Jacket (Frank Thomas armoured), heavy bike boots, HG Pathan gloves (the two fingered style, very nice and quite cheap Very Happy) and I pretty much only ever wear jeans anyway. Too cold for biking in any other trousers at the moment. Only reason I don't wear textile trousers is I can't currently afford Rolling Eyes

Has to be leather for me. Lately despite the cold Ive been wearing a Richa one piece (complete with race hump!!), sidi vertebraes, akito's with carbon inserts and a Knox KTC-2000 back protector. If Im going to work in the morning though its all that stuff plus a Hein Gericke one piece oversuit (keeps that nasty wind out!) and a pair of Hein Gericke winter gloves with the 'zoidberg' fingers!

on the way back I strap the 'proofs and zoids to the back of the bike and just flog it home!

safe riding all!!

ive recently re thought my bike clothing, i have worn trackie bottoms but now i wont wear ne thing below jeans for protection, even then im not sure about trainers.

going to uni i wear trainers, some of the guy wear full leathers

it comes down to practicality Vs safety

which unfortunatly can end ur biking prematurely, makes me think sometime

Depends on the distance, how long i'll be out, the temperature and the likely speeds I'll be going.

Winter:
Long distance w/ motorways = full leathers, winter boots, winter gloves w/ inner gloves, long john trousers, collered t-shirt, thin jumper (old v-neck woolen school one), full-face balaclava and earplugs
Short distance but only out for a few minutes and minimal traffic = jeans, summer boots, summer gloves, collered t-shirt, leather jacket (if raining textile).
Short distance but out all day w/ traffic = jeans, winter boots, collered t-shirt, jumper, winter gloves, leather jacket (if raining textile), balaclava

Summer:
Long distance w/ motorways = full leathers, summer boots, summer gloves, collered t-shirt, jumper, neck tube and earplugs
Short distance but only out for a few minutes and minimal traffic = jeans, summer boots, summer gloves, collered t-shirt, leather jacket (if raining textile).
Short distance but out all day w/ traffic = jeans, summer boots, summer gloves, collered t-shirt, jumper, leather jacket (if raining textile) and neck tube

Basically, its all very dependent on what sort of ride it is...though it'd most sensible to wear full leathers at all times.
