Hi all, never really post in here, should do really...

Lucky me has a new bike, not really an offroad bike but it will, the tyres are 30% off road so will do ok apparently (ive ridden a 230kg tourer on dirt/sand/gravel tracks on 100% road tyres, so i think this will be pretty easy compared.. though i'm going to hold off till i have some decent crash bars.

I was wondering if anyone knows any good, legal, beginer or slightly harder greenlanes/routes, nearer to derby the better Very Happy

Or somewhere to find them?

Anyone got any tips for starting off? anyone think only an idiot takes a road biast bike off it?

I built my own enduro track in a huge forest owned by a logging company to ride a Tw125 around.

You're not an idiot, you're hardcore! Razz

General greenlaning tips:

1. Stand up, elbows bent over tank and gripping it with your knees
2. Look way off down the lane and work out your line well in advance.
3. Weight the out side pegs and rise up over the bike around turns.
4. Remember that your eyes are your targeting method, and whatever you stare at you will steer towards. Thefore, don't look at the huge pothole, look at the route that you're going to take around it.
5. Enjoy yourself, you're having fun Smile

Good advice Smile

Know any places though? I'm originally from Wales, where everywhere is a green lane - but in the Midlands it's raer.

Need somewhere to play on my XL.

My local TRF are promising, but they go out at silly O'clock on a Sunday morning.
