Hi, just swapped my TL1000R for a Husky 610SMR.
I'm looking for general advice on where to source parts, servicing, track days and maybe just to meet up with other moto lovers for a back road thrash.
Cheers,
Dave. |

There is a tyre spot in Buckie who were pretty cheap when I lived up at Huntly a few years ago. They mainly did car tyres but could get pretty much anything in for you. Believe me, your life will be a never ending quest for cheap, sticky tyres from now-on
Must've been very cheap come to think of it, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered slogging all the way from Huntly to Buckie when there are 10 or 15 closer tyre places. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. How do you clean the air filters on these lil bikes? Is it just like K&N cleaner or something or do you actually have to change the filter?
Mine is soaked in ming!

Just from v/down site.. migth have met him at a meet.. no ideea?! doubt it
Air filters.. well I just cleaned mine in warm soapy water, left it to dry then you stick it in a carrier bag, spray loads of foam filter oil in there and then rub all the oil in (hence carrier bag to not get oil all over you..) then you re-fit it..
if it's really covered in shit you can always get a new one, only a tenner or so! ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

Cheers Yams!
Is air filter oil expensive?
What is the best engine oil for these bikes? 5-40 pro4?
I think Jellyfinger will be pretty delighted with the TL, its a great bike. I'm just happy to get a supermoto at last! Its so much better for than the TL on my local roads coz half of them are single track and twisty as hell! I'm amazed at how easy they are to ride!
Most of my riding has been on pure road bikes apart from motoX as a kid but the tail happy style only took an hour or so to get to grips with. It far from mastered tho-i'm not that cocky!
My only worry is that a bike like this inspires extreme confidence on the road. It would be so easy to get over excited! |

I'm sorely tempted by getting a KLR650 next, about the only thing I'm vaguely put off by is the saddle height. If it's 34", and I have inside leg of about 31" being 6' tall, I take it that that's a tiptoe situation? Perhaps I just need to get more confidence with heavy tall bikes, and an unbreakable one would be handy. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Yes thanks. It was almost my primary inspiration. Very well written piece, and if nothing else, confirmed that a big single is fine for big distances. ____________________ I must not be a troll...
