i keep my bike in the passageway to my neighbours back garden ... we live in a terrace. Last night my neighbour caught a couple of blokes and some girls (obviously trying to show off) having a go at my bike ... they heard them moving the bins (3 of them that were infront of the bike)

luckily he chased them away in time!

the bike is ok still and is now being kept in his garden

even after he chased them away they were waiting around for like 15 mins !!

i was away at the time

im lucky, but really annoyed!

Why are so many bikes being stolen atm, Xmas??? i mean rooroo's got stolen and then they tried to have a go at mine ...

makes me sick, especially after all the hard work i had done on it and the money i had spent, people have no respect Sad

Great to hear you scared them off, this is getting scary with all the
thefts about. I think I should be okay where I live but it scares me
a bit.

Okay my bikes are nothing special but broken down they are worth
a few quid.

...which is more than you can say about the scrotes that steal them.

There again, if the "community service" type sentences were expanded slightly to include compulsory blood/organ/marrow donation...

I think its either down to like you said Christmas or the fact of having a 'laugh' with their mates. My bike got nicked on bonfire night by 2 12-13 year olds. Managed to get it back luckily. But my bike is old and crap so it just goes to show that they will go for anything. Glad to hear your bike is good though.

i work hard though, and have paid for everything myself on this bike. insurance, tax, mot and done a lot of the work myself. its my little baby, what gives a drunk 20 year old pikey the right to steal of someone like me who is a hard working citizen, to be honest if i saw them i think i would have seen red Middle Finger

I know what you mean about bikes getting nicked as mine did (which I got back). The thing that really gets to me the most is the fact that some scum bag has ridden the bike Sad Glad they didn't get yours.

Its not just bikes being nicked.

My dog was shut in my room all night, and he usually has the roam of the house, and he can be very noisy.

I took him for a walk today, and on returning noticed a lump of wood dug out of the front-door-frame. Upon closer inspection, I see scratches and dents in the door where someone has tried to lever it open.

Strange really, because of all day for the dog to be locked up...

Plus, my moped is sitting right in front of the front door, with only a steering lock on it (no chains/locks/alarm etc. Just built in CDi and steering lock) and it was untouched.

You're not alone. Some prick apparently tried to walk off with my bike, with the steering locked and a disk lock attached. Cost me $350 for him to learn locked-up bikes are hard to steal. Neutral Thumbs Down

Its this kind of thing that makes me consider placing razor blades in my seat foam.

Wouldnt deter anyone from stealing it.
But may cut their femoral artery if they try and ride my bike off Smile
