That's just a big "pull me" sign! Laughing You're allowed a national flag, the EC circle of stars or the GB flag as far as I'm aware, and that's your lot. It looks pretty natty I must admit though. Smile

Repeat/ frequent offenders maybe, but they always big it up for the site...... what could happen, etc. 40 quid and no points is what usually happens.

Theres not size of plate, its the font and spacing/margins that need to be correct. If you have less characters in your registration you can have a smaller plate.

40 quid a time, and they may also issue a correction notice, but I've only ever been fined once, and told off once in about 14 years.

You could get the text done easy enough though you'd probably have to put a homer sticker on, which would look crap. Doubt anyone would make it specially.

Nottingham police aren't usually that bad anyway, I quite often ride up there through the summer, and I've never had any trouble.

Something like this is taking the piss more than normal.

Having an undersize plate is a start; then adding stuff that will make it even harder to work out what the designation is, may make them even angrier.

The plate is there so that they can easily identify you if you do something wrong.
They could easily look at it that you could be involved in a hit and run and ride off without being identified due to your plate.
If it was one of your friends/relations that were hit; you'd hope they didn't get away because no one could read the plate as the police hadn't done anything about it.

(Not saying you're going to run over anyone, but the police don't know that.)

Saying all that, my zx9 does have an 8" x 6" plate, but then my tartishness is well established.

Jeez, it's a numberplate, a legal requirement, next there will be custom tax discs floating around. Rolling Eyes Razz

I would be worried about having a blatently illegal number plate.

To be honest, it's the kind of thing they would pull you over for, then examine your bike for anything else they could find that is wrong.

I do have an undersized plate... but "honestly officer, it came with the bike, I never realised! It's passed two MOTs with it too" *flutter, flutter* Angelic

I know someone who broke his numberplate in half and put it under his seat. For a year and a half he got away with saying "it fell off 2 miles down the road and a car ran over it". Laughing
