Is it standard procedure to have a telephone interview with the insurance holder of your policy?

Could be telephone, could be in person, it really depends on the insurance company and the details of the claim and if they think it is at all necessary.

So basically there isn't a yes or no answer, I'd expect they'll speak with the policy holder about it at least once though.

Some firms are also using polygraph technology (via telephone) to determine legitimacy of claims.

anyone else had any experiences with these interviews?

my claim is completely legit but from what I've heard, some insurance companies are really really bad when it comes to paying out...
