What are you going to be up to these Christmas holidays*? Apart from revising and doing final year project work, I have a few maintenance items I need to get on top of. In no particular order, these include:
Strip the bike down to its engine and frame, and give a jolly good clean and lube. Get the exhausts looking immaculate again, and maybe have a gander at lubing the swingarm pivot.
Finally fix my tachometer, and put some kind of sealant around the join to stop it getting full of condensation.
Replace the speedo cable so that I can tell whether I'm doing 40 or more, rather than having to sit at 35 to be sure.
Replace the running light bulb, again. Maybe there's some dodgy electrics somewhere else making it blow.
Find some crash repair place to pull the dent out of my tank.
Enough to keep me occupied for a decent while I should think. Of course cleaning it is pretty futile as it will just get covered in crap and corruption in pretty short order, but at least I'll be happy in the knowledge it's not about to rust to pieces just yet.
*For those who aren't lucky enough to get Christmas holidays, my sympathies. Being a student does have a few benefits despite being pretty much stone broke all the time. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Well, final year work!
So :
Dissertation, including a large batch of Russian news articles to translate
Analysis Project, this is equal to my dissertation, so starting it may be a wise idea.
Exam revision. Time to remember something more intellectual the the lyrics to "Like a Virgin" for my Popular Culture Exam.
Performance Practice project... Time to perhaps listen to Montiverdi's Vespers, then I may be able to discuss it a little better!
General service for the CBR, oil change etc.
Replace the front brake pads on the Gixxer
Take the Gixxer apart and try and diagnose the reason it won't bloomin' start/run properly.
Try and repair the broken side panel on the Gixxer. ____________________ Avast! Pirates ahoy!

I'll swap you for this week! I'm spending it mainly at MIRA (Motor Industry Research Authority) doing vehicle testing (wind tunnels, powertrains, vehicle dynamics - drivetrain and handling, automotive noise control, vehicle braking, etc etc...)
The crux of it is to hand in 6 pieces of coursework in 7 days, 4 of them by Friday, and none of them is less than 10 pages. I've had 10 hours sleep in the past two days, and have had about an hour to myself in each of these past two days. I expect not to get more than 5 hours sleep on any night this week, if any on Friday morning.
I don't think I'd swap my development of a simulation of ABS systems for your rather open ended dissertation though... I think if anyone complains about their work load to me, I'm going have to laugh in their face.
Triple espresso and chocolate chip cookies have the answer!! I think I might spend the first half of next week sleeping. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Fuck. In a word. Fuck fuckety fuck fuck fuck.
I slept in and missed the bus to MIRA today. My alarm either didn't go off, or I managed to turn it off without even waking up. Seeing as my alarm clock is about 5 feet away from my bed, that's some achievement. I've just been working all morning writing up the braking report. Needless to say I'm a little bit annoyed, even more so because my team members are going to be more than a little bit inconvenienced by my absence.
And it was the best day too, the track tour and then the wind tunnel experiment. Oh well... ____________________ I must not be a troll...
