Well the old bros has lost all enjoyment and looking to upgrade.
Theres so many things to think about, (cc, insurance, looks, comfort).
The speed four is never talked about but whenever I do find a review on it, it raves about it.
It looks cool and all that but are there better alternatives about? Has anyone ridden one?
Cheers

Sorry but slightly confused. Are you saying if I streetfighter a soft crash 600 it will be cheaper than buying the Triumph? Not accounting for an amazing deal.
Oh yeah and whats the point in having raised bars compared to clip ons?
Cheers

Yes, basically .
| Quote: | Enlarge 2002 Triumph Speed Four 599 cc,
Manual, Motorcycle, Petrol, 2,500 miles, Black. Black with Radiator Cowls fitted, Some marks on paintwork but good overall condition. £3,399. |
Cheapest intact speed four on biketrader. (Though that does seem to be ok value for 2,500 miles, will depend on what 'marks on paintwork mean').
Still they don't seem to hold their value too well, so might not be /too/ bad a buy.
Should be able to get a newish 600 (2000+ model) from a bit under £2k for one without too much damamge. |

Wohoo!
I just bought a crash damaged TT600 for 1.5k, the fixer-upper bits cost about £500 all in and I have (almost) built myself a speed 4!
Oh and the Speed 4 has /exactly/ the same clip ons as the TT600, and in actual fact the yokes are dropped over the forks to make the bike even /more/ wrist heavy. I'm not sure if there is any rear suspension shenanigans going on to compensate for this though.
Buy a mildly accident damaged TT600, do a bit of work and you'll be laughing! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade
Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |
