I am 17 on a 600cc Honda CBR (sports bike) restriced to 33bhp.

Basically they dont take into consideration the restriction, i asked time and time again if it made a difference to over 30 places i called... and not a single one took it into account.

1999 Honda CBR600F
17 Years old,
1 year NCB
Fully Locked, Garaged (with garage anchor) and ground anchored
META 357T Alarm/Immobiliser
Buckinghamshire

My quotes for TPFT

Lowest £1443 - H and R
Average £1835 (10-15 places)
Highest £3965 (Norwich Union... !!!)

5-8 places simply said they cant cater for me.

TP

Lowest £993 (Zenith - but NUG my current company matched it)
Average £1100
Highest £1600

Fully Comp

Forget it.

But still if your interested

Lowest - £3246
Highest - £4000 (price of bike!)

About 16-20 places simply said dont even ask. lol

The NUG man i was chatting to for a while told me that most insurance companies simply see '17' , '600' and 'Sports' and then immiediatly its going to be high.

400cc, expect them to be lower than that but at 17 not by a huge amount.

Yeah if i had to pay for it myself i think i would be on something a little... less flashy.

But thats the joy of having a dad with a new VFR wanting someone to ride with him who can keep up. Smile

Jamie your best bet is simply to ring the companies, pick a make of bike that you might be interested in (i assumed sports 400's? ) and then go through a few quotes. Should soon get a good idea of the price.

But dont take the first one as gospel, as you seen from Norwich Union.. the prices vary hugely!

ones i would try (call centres from the back of RIDE/BIKE magazines direct you here an there) -

Zenith
NUG
H and R
