I know what you mean, but fuel guages are utter pants at the best of times, trip is a far better indicator (appart from the first time you find out how much you have left Razz)

electric start, some of them can have one added, but its good to know that your not going to have to bump start in the event of your battery dieing or starter motor going bust!

Don't worry about it, its all part of the haveing a cheepo learner bike experiance. what you get for £1000 125 is shocking compared to what the same money will get you on a 400cc+

I wish they made kick starts on my electric start bikes, then I could start them with a flat battery.

I also wish someone made a rear hugger for a gpz500s because they need one.

So i only find out I am onto reserver when I lose all power trying to overtake on the Motorway.

I've only ever had kick starts. Utter pain if some joker winds the throttle back on you or your kicking for ages to find out the same joker has put the kill switch on.

Would one for the ER-5 fit the GPZ Stinkwheel?

This company here makes them: https://www.n-w-s.com/kawasaki/er5.html

Took me ages to find someone that makes them for the ER-5.

Hope this helps,

Mark

Kickstarts are only cool if ya operate em by hand, most of my big Kawa's could be started by pushing on the kickstart by hand... but ya had to be sure the timing was on the mark or yer elbow would receive serious grief from hitting the handlebar when the bugger kicked back

Bah kickstarts are cool whatever, the whine of a starter motor just annoys me.

(Why don't they make starter motor gears helical cut instead of straight cut? Confused )

Yeah all 125s should be kick start, but especially trailbikes. Id rather be kicking starting a Trailie in big MX boots than pressing a button, as it kind of kills the die hard/tough off roading image. Also it adds weight, which we dont want on off roaders. seeing as proper nutter off road bikes like KX500's are kickstart, then it seems very uncool to have an electric start 125 trailie IMO!

uh huh, i wish my 125 had a kicker at times, but after seeing Smoto countlessly kickstart his machines, i'd rather not be doing that every morning with my college gear! Wink However, i used to almost kickstart my NRG every time and always worked. Something of that sort would work wonders on my XR.

Well my KMX200 is kickstart only, just how i like my 2strokes! It even has a highish compression ratio, that gives some proper resistance at times, and i have once or twice had it kick back, but that would just make a KX500 owner laugh his head off i spose lol!

If i get my KMX sorted as a proper supermoto, i might consider buying another cheap 200cc+ 2stroke for some off roading and messing about. Id quite like to find a cheap TS250X with its pukka 1984 RM250 styling!

I think that you can get aftermarket fuel sensors...I remember that I was tempted to get one for my old Blade a little while ago...but the company (TecBikes, I believe that they were called) seem to have disappeared now.
