It's a strong detergent, thats all.

Works a treat thou..... Very Happy

Dont forget, read the bottle to find the correct dose then pour the whole bottle in. Well on a car I use a whole bottle so maybe on a bike just use half the bottle.

the best way IMHO is to take the airbox off and inject it in to the carb/throttle body using a syringe (sp?) when the engine is revving quite high Thumbs Up
Cleans the valves and seats and the piston/barrel

I bought a £1 shot bottle (for a car's tank). You only need a wee bit per full tank of petrol, on your bike. A few drops or so...

Use it in the 2-stroke machines as well sometimes.

I don't use it all the time, only ever so often. Lasts ages. Thumbs Up

Here's a test for all you try, money back if not satisfied.... as long as you car has not been treated for a couple of years. On a quarter full tank of fuel add a full bottle of STP/Redex. Within 20 miles you will know where your money went......it's good shit man Laughing

Power increase and better miles per gallon, and it smokes a bit Very Happy like having a 2 stroke car!!

I want to use it on my bike, in the insructions it says you have to remove the plugs and pour it directly in there, will it matter if you just whack loads in the fuel ? Confused

Nope!. Not at all...
How big is your tank. Mines only a 5ltr tank so I once stuck about 1/4 of the bottle in!...

Arrow Did you do that with a full tank?
Arrow Did it smoke alot more?
Arrow Was there a noticable difference?
Arrow Would it be more effective doing it in the plugs as it says on the manual?

If you want a really smokey car (which hasn't got knackered valve guides or piston rings), try my mate's Mark 2 Escort, running with lead and octane additives. Add those to the fact that the distributor can't keep up the firing pulses properly at more than 7k rpm, and the fact that the valve overlap is something hideous, leading to overfueling and not burning most of the petrol at high rpm, and you really don't want to be behind that car when it's revving up high. Apparently with the right distributor, being a good old iron block, it'll rev to 10k rpm. Shocked

I really dont know mate Laughing

I had a K&N filter on which was F**ked at the time and it had big holes in it. Well Dust and shit must of caked up the jets and it kept cutting out, So I poured 1/4 bottle of Redex into the tank and it solved the problem after about 10 miles!

<|Binge|>

(Sombody I know used "Hotshots" in his fueltank, he recons it has improved his resricted 7bhp scooter (Or what eva it is) he recons its added an extra 5bhp...) I was like BOLLOCKS!, Maybe an extra 5% bhp...

What a div!
