Grey imports are bikes that are imported from other countries which are not officially sold in England (or where ever you might be).
btw. Parrellel imports are bikes that are imported, but the same model is officially sold in the UK.
Both types of unofficial imports (usually by dealers/wholesalers) often have different specs; kph speedos, different lights and somtimes engines in different states of tune/restriction. They are also not covered by the maufacturer guarentee.

The process of importing the bikes, and the bikes themselves are not illegal...but there may be a need to modify parts of the bike, such as the lights/indicators etc. to make them meet certain UK/European standards before they are deemed _road_ legal...

Hi

Although a grey import or parallel import may not be totally legal, it is unlikely to be a problem. Technically a kmh speedo is illegal, but as long as you are good at multiplying your speed by 5/8 you will be fine. Headlight dipping the wrong way is a bit more of a problem. Different specs are a pain, with French bikes being limited to 100hp, German bikes often having slightly less power to go with their insurance bands, and some countries having heavily restricted 125's

I dont think the NSR125F was officially imported ever.

All the best

Keith
