Getting a new bike soonish. These two seem to be the best for me. Touring, speed and not too hooligan. Honda have been my choice of company due to reliability but always open to other opinions.

Anyone ridden the two?

Cheers

Jan

I'd go for the F4 myself mate, probably a bit more poky and pretty comfy as well. Both nice bikes though Thumbs Up.

I'd say the f4 just has the edge in performance, but not by much and will obviously depend on how it's been treated as well. If you can get a better condition 'cat for less money I'd go that way.

CBR's still being made, so spares are easier to come by.

But as G says, if you see an especially good deal, go either way cos there's not a whole lot in it.

I work in a motorcycle workshop and i would honstly say the CBR 600, they are more rileable than the thundercat and plus it is Honda you are right, for riliability you cant beat Honda.
and in my opinion the CBR 6 is the best bike honda make.
Hope you chose the right 1.

Personally I didn't like the CBR as much, it felt like I was riding on my knackers and the one I tried had a very twitchy throttle which make the bike surge.

Would agree with tintin if it's regarding the FI bikes (01 onwards). The fuel injection is extremely crude when coming on throttle, and this surging and jerking (fnar fnar) can be a real pain in the arse. I would be seriously put off buying another one because of this.

I'm looking at the 99'F4 which was the last model not to have fuel injection I believe.
