On the 28th of October i was banned for 60 days, so on Boxing day my ban comes off, i have already paid the fine, but because the ban was longer than 28 days the court took away my licence, and i have to apply to the dvla for a new one, i was just wondering if im allowed to go out Boxing day or do i have to wait until the DVLA send me a new one after i have rang up. It says on the Piece of paper they gave me, " If you are disqualified for 56 days your licence will be sent to DVLA, Swansea and you must apply there for a new one at the end of your ban, before you can drive again"

Thanks in advance for your replies.

I don't know for sure, but by the wording it sounds like you have to apply first. Could you not have applied before now, so that by the time they got your paperwork, lost it five times, buried it in peat, spilt coffee on it, filed it, and then finally un-lost it you'd have been about right for applying bang on time?

I bought my new bike in October, sent off the paperwork and YESTERDAY got a letter saying "thanks for the docs, your V5 will be with you in six weeks. Maybe" Rolling Eyes

silvers spot on for that one. My mate got banned for 12 months (driving) he didnt have to re-do his test but he did have to re-apply. He applied about 3 or 4 months previously and simply requested the day his ban ended to be the day the licence started. So when his ban was up he was straight back on the road. As a bonus too all his points were gone when he got it back!
