Damn that was cold, I popped up about midday and had to go back home and get a thicker coat. None of the BCF'ers had fell off yet but quite amusingly a lad on an R1 exited the pit lane and twatted the pit wall thus only making it about 20 yards out.

How the hell do you do that at Silverstone?? Confused

Where are the people who went then? Update? Any pictures?

Worse, he did it twice, in a row!

First time he just went wide I think, second time he highsided.

And this is someone allowed to ride on the road Confused.

Pictures which we did didn't come out great. Dusty did some, but with the wider angle lens. I only got the chance to take a few.

How?! Laughing

I know the entrance to the track bears around to the right, but it's hardly tight and you shouldn't be going that quick as you'd have just pulled away from the line in the pitlane Confused

So so cold, was fun watching though even if everyone on track failed to crash in my view!

I refuse to go and watch another trackday if its that cold again though.

Fantastically freezing but great fun, nobody crashed and nothing blew up - a good result for us lot. I had a good first ride on my R6, best lap of 2:25 so a second quicker than last summer on the R1, although I now have a raging cold and frostbite on the end of my nose Confused

Nice pictures. Two questions though:

1) I thought it was sold out - it looks pretty quiet?

2) Is that G with a spare engine? And why?!

Yes, it was indeed bitterly cold, but an enjoyable day (especially since the alternative was work Wink ).

I was most pleased it was none of our lot that had any 'incidents'. Razz

Long story, but...
Had had some intermittant starting problems with the r6 previously. Was led to believe it was likely to be the ECU. I was hoping to swap the one in the bike (2003 one) for an older one I have.

As this was pretty easy, I left it to fairly late (after stuff like doing the head bearings etc). I ended up being really busy untill Sunday, so tried it lane. No luck.
After much fiddling, I eventually found the problem to be the starter clutch, which had previously been dismissed. Got the old engine apart, but need my air wrench to undo the rotor nut... 'twas a bit late by then to be using the compressor, so got it all ready to do at Silverstone, along with the spare engine ready to do the same to swap the starter clutch from that one.

Ended up that we couldn't get the flywheel off, so just bump started it for the rest of the day (cheers for the help with the initial bump start guys Thumbs Up.

Now need to try and find then make my bearing puller work, for next weekend Confused.
