Well I thought today I shall ride the GPZ seeing as it hadn't been ridden since last wednesday. So I got kitted up checked the petrol and oil and went on my merry way, 30 miles later the bike starts spluttering so I think right I'll flick it to reserve, but at this point I remember I only filled the bike up with £14 worth of petrol 50 miles ago.

I carry on down some country lanes that lead me back home when the bike looses all power and grinds to a halt. I then check the petrol tank and find its empty, I think to myself thats weird I only flicked to reserve 7 miles ago. Confused

Luckily a kind old gentleman in a Renault Megane stops and offers to take me to the petrol station to fill a jerry can and drive me back. So I took him up on the offer and now I am back home to find petrol pissing out of somewhere on the bike. Confused

I really do hate bikes now! And I'd like to say a really big thanks to the guy that stopped for me!

Yeah I didn't really think about turning it off cos it wasn't used due to the weather more than anything.

Probably a bit of shit under one of the needle valves letting the fuel flow past your carbs into the engine.

Did it smell a lot richer when you started it this morning?

Also probably a fair quantity of petrol in your oil now. I'd change the oil to be on the safe side.
