Sports Bike For A Grand

Well, the title says it all really. I have £1000 to spend, I want a sports bike ideally. Might be swayed towards a supermoto, but won't get much for the money. Will need to commute on it all year round 10 miles each way, and want it for fun at the weekends too, so not fussed about a GS5 or anything like that... I know it's asking a lot, but anyone got any ideas?

If your not too bothered about age then you could get a CBR600FH-L, GPZ/GPX600R or a GSX600.

All 3 are decent, good handling 600's, there sports bikes or atleast they were a few years back.

i just picked up a 1990 zxr750 for a little over a grand insured as a classic unlimited mileage with footman james for 150 quid.....cheap speed.....

just seen one advertised for 1250 and that was from a trader, save a few more quid and get want you want thats my opinion, good luck

got a FZR600, bought for track next year, but new bike forces sale, its an unfinished project, needs brake light and could be put back on road with daytime MOT only, still MOT'd now, got V5 etc, frame has just been re-sprayed and engine stripped and cleaned, anodised Blue Scorpian End Can (sounds good), runs good, 1989 3HE model, £600 NO OFFERS!!!! its a bargain.
