Im after a set of Renthal Bars but its a case of loosing my Fuel gague, Temp Gague, Oil light etc. Yeh ok Ive got a digital Speedo, But what about my mileage etc...
Is it legal to have a scooter without a mile clock to count the milage of the scooter?

Is it possible to get a small plug in fuel gague?
Im not too fussed about a temp gague cos ive had ma scoot 2 years through 2 summers and its never gone over half (Very reliable scoot!)

Is it worth the bother loosing my clocks for a sexy set of handle bars?

You only need a speedo to be road legal. You can get loads of fancy guages for bikes that do more than just the speedo though.

I might do it.
Theres a nice set of Renthal Bars on ebay in chrome with a carbon fibre stem attachment. they are up for £30 which aint too bad!
Ive got a Digital speedo which clocks the miles too, I can easily wire an LED light up to my Oil light and just set it into my switch gear. My fuel gague is facked ne way. It does make the scooters look really nice too!...

change the speedo is completely legal and the new speedo,s mileage does,nt have to match the previous, clocking back the oringal speedo is illegal though.

I know clocking back the speedo is illigal, But why is it legal to put a new 1 on.
Strange...

Anyway, Ive decided, Because im not actually selling the bike, Im gona keep it for the sake of £90 a year insurance. Im gna spend a bit of cash geting it nice.
I want a new set of headlights for it (speedfight 2 style) and I want a Lexus light (or a clear lense) for the rear (because I already have a LED cluster bulb in).
A nice set of bars and im sorted.

l think its a rare example of common sense in UK law, clocks/speedo break like all parts of a vehicle and on a bike a head on crash is gurateed to destroy the clock.

nice scooter by the way. i was thinking about doing the same to my speedfight 1, doing the bar conversion. All im concerned about is the speedo, indicator lights etc. how would it all wire up? whould you use the same conectors or whould i have to solder myself or what? What about when it rains? isnt it a problem with water getting down by the stem?

I see you mentioned about doing you headlights like the speedfight 2's, what was you planning on doing for that? new light board or somethink? because I have posted a question about that, If you could help me out on this I would be grateful, thanx

erm, I binned all the wireing for the dashboard...
The switch gear is a different wire loom, If you take it apart, you will see
Only problem is tho, you loose ya steerin lock. I cut my old bars down and bolted the steering lock back on below my street bar stem...
Water isnt a problem (e,g, Suzuki Bandit)

The left hand mirrir got Nicked!

The back Light Has a sheet of carbon fibre sticker over it, and I cut 2 circles in it... (Up close its shit)
