Road Tar spots!

How do I get rid of them on the exhaust and the fairing, I dont want to spend all day rubbing at them as they generally smear and take an age to dissapear.

Is there any products out there that will possibly dissolve the stuff.

Polish. Auto glym resin polish takes them off.

Thanks for the replies, I think I will try the polish and some of the other ideas and see what works best for me.

I used to use petrol and a cloth. You'll have to wash it again afterwards though.

Petrol and screens don't mix apparently. It makes them go all manky and cloudy.

Tried white spirit on the exhaust and it worked a treat, bit dubious about trying it on the fairing though.
