I am shooting a short film, less than five minutes. The goal is to enter film festivals and see how far we can go. We (our little amateur production company) have a small crew, some actors, locations, some great kit and five scripts we are shooting all the way through until December 2012.

However, we need a shiny, racing motorcycle in an indoor environment (where we can light a shot). We don't need it for long, just long enough so we can shoot a few seconds of footage which means we'd hope to shoot for 30 minutes max. Ideally, we'd want one as close to London as possible so anywhere in Northampts, Southern England etc... would be great although we'll go further afield if necessary.

It would also be great if we could film someone on a track to use a few seconds of that footage.

So if there is anyone out there who has a good looking race bike we could film in an enclosed environment that we could light, that would be fantastic. If there is also the opportunity to shoot the same bike / owner out on the track and use a little bit of the footage, that would be doubly fantastic.

Is there anyone who could help?

Apologies for delays in coming back. The office I was using was diagonally opposite JD Sports in Tottenham and 150m from the shooting. Thank f@ck my last day there was Friday although there is a riot going on literally a 10 minute drive down the road from where I am writing this. In addition, I live in front of what could be described as a 'target,' where arrests have been made, a police car has been smashed up and it is a little tricky tonight. Fortunately, the target is applying some common sense, has its own dog patrol and private security which is preventing youths from gathering.

There are definitely more youths on the streets at the moment than normal but they are being dispersed as they arrive by private security.

However, if I may thank you for the offer - fantastic, sounds great provided someone doesn't burn down my house / car / cat etc... I'd be very interested indeed. Let me PM you to set this up if I may.

I'd love to get some shots in a 'controlled' environment as well. i.e. indoors where I could light one of the bikes to get some 'artistic' shots if this is feasible for you. Again, it is a little 'London burning' dependent but hey, life's funny like that.

Apologies for the caveat but it's a little lively around here. It's a riot.

That's fantastic, thanks very much! You'll have to bear with me for a day while I work this out because I'm a bit tired from staying up all night dealing with the spillover from a rather aggressive form of late night shopping.

Can you believe that all the sports shops I've visited are out of baseball bats! Not a single one for sale, anywhere!

Sorry to hear you're in the thick of it, looks pretty immense up your neck of the woods.
Well, should you fancy it you know where we'll be. regarding a relatively controlled environment, brands hatch's garages have roller shutters either side so you would be able to control the lighting as you wish to a degree. If you were to go ahead, the track is probably one of the easiest places to do it, you have your pick of the litter then. there's roughly a 2 hour space of time between lunch and the next session for pictures set up as well if that's the sorta thing you're after.
Hope that give some decent info to ya.

This is really appreciated but this Sunday is probably a little too soon for me. The reason is I have to sort out my car and a friend's office. Specifically, I borrowed a friend's office while mine was getting refurbed for a few weeks and told him I'd help him out and return the favour if ever he needed anything. Only thing is the office was in Tottenham, diagonally opposite JD Sports so I'm returning the favour this weekend, a little sooner than expected....

It is possible I might be ready and would love to come up to Mallory but highly unlikely due to the mess.

And the Brands garages with the shutters mean I could put my own lighting kit in there provided it doesn't get in your way.

If I may ask, when are you next at Mallory or closer to London e.g. Brands, Silverstone etc...? Your offer is fantastic and I would love to come over to shoot. At weekends, the only dates I have problems with are the 3rd September (casting), the 1st October, 8th October and 15th October (shooting). Also, I am completely free the last week of August, any time during the week.

So I've checked and I can't do the 16th unfortunately. Shame for me as this would have been perfect and the bikes look good. The only dates when I can really take time off work will be the last week in August.

Saturday 17th September is perfect. A Benelli Tornado - absolutely awesome, outstanding. Just the curves remind me of my ex-wife for some reason I can't explain and she was hot... ahem, but hey, that's probably too much information...

I'll shoot you a PM. I will need Lydden Hill's permission to film there but have filled in all the forms and crossed my fingers.

Would love to but unfortunately we are doing a little casting on the 10th. We have an actor who is appearing in a very popular series in October and an award winning 'shorts' actor who has literally won awards from London to New York so I have to be there.

Otherwise, thanks for the offer, really appreciated and if the timing was different, I would loved to have been there.

A big public thanks for that. That was absolutely excellent, really appreciated and a great help! If we win an Oscar, I will have to credit you and just as importantly, your bike!

Thanks again.
