depends what exhuast it was, I fitted my jim lomas end can today, sounds much better and performance wise its better i have an 04 aprilia rs125 and there is alot of shit in them zorst to stop them from performing like they should, they also give the bike a much better sound, alot more depper. and the rev's are smother and in my case, the bike gets to 11ks quicker. so yeh its worth the money,

Fitting a race pipe will see some improvement, not a huge gain in speed, but it will certainly make it rev a lot cleaner. It'll also sound nicer. Smile

If you were to fit a race pipe, you leave the bike run for a while, take it for a spin (but not far) then do a plug chop. That way you'll be able to tell if you need to alter the mixture. Chances are, a race system will have increased gas flow, so it will burn differently and most likely need to be up-jetted slightly to cope with the changes.

Hi

Against a decent standard exhaust without the restrictors I doubt the real difference will be more than 1~2mph.

Depends if that is worth pissing the neighbours off with the noise for.

All the best

It also depends on the also depends on the design of the stock exhaust.
e.g. the rs50 exhaust is designed so that peak power is reached at 9.5k and carries through to 10k, this makes for about 55mph at 10k rpm, with a race exhaust (like mine) it's designed so that the bike peaks at around 11k yet still carries a lot of power right throught to 13k, so 6th gear can pull through to the red line giving a LOT more top speed (5-10mph indicated) this is different on most bikes thoguh, and on your nsr i doubt if you will even gain 3mph. This was also proved today as i have a mate with standard rs50, and mine just blitzes him at top speed.

Power can only be shifted so far up the range by exhuast alone though, and running at 13k all the time will increase engine wear ten fold.

Jim Lomas and Jolly Moto pipes seem to be the top two recommend for 125cc sports bikes, expecially the the JL pipe, worth getting the stainless one just because it lasts longer in my opinion

Yes Kye i realise that, but imo it's worth it on the 50 as there's hardly any power anyway, lpus the fact that pistons are cheap as chips.
