I have been offered a dna 50 for £650 with under 4000 miles on the clock in good condition. Now i dont really like them and would prefer allot of other bikes but i could buy it and ride it for the 7 months untill im 17 or i could buy it and sell it on.... This is where you guys come in -basically what should i do?!!!!!Any specs of the bike would be most welcome (top speeds and stuff) and any possible profit figures you think i could make.Cheers.

If it's in good condition then buy it either way. Then see if you like it (they look good IMHO). If you really cant stand it then sell it on as for that price in good condition it can be sold for more. Put it on ebay as some kid's might push the price up to over what it's worth, made a few hundred quid and can then get what you want when your 17, or better kit! Thumbs Up

Basically its a moped.
Its looks might be a little ore bikeish, but so long as you know its a ped and treat it as such, you won't be supprised or disappointed.

From what I know, that's not an amazing price. Mopends don't really hold their value that well.

If it was me I would look at getting a geared 50, especially if you are looking to get a 'proper' bike at 17. You should be able to find them from about £300.

I agree with G. Mopeds and scoots depreciate at a rate you wouldn't believe. No matter what mileage is on them, they are woth virtually nothing second-hand the moment you wheel them out of the shop.

Can I also just say that mileage is irrelevant compared to the care taken? (This applies to all vehicles to some degree). Well, OK, maybe not irrelevant, but only another factor when making your decision perhaps?

People automatically think that a low-moileage vehicle is "best". Not so.

A DNA that has 4000 miles on it and has been ragged to death by some ped boi might clean up good, but is not going to be as good as one that has double the miles but has been properly ridden, serviced and maintained.
