bloody right hand pistons crown has colapsed on my KR1-S after only 2,000 miles since the re-build back in july. took the exhausts off today to clean up the powervavles and the piston looks as someones chewed it. Mad

no damge to the bore so just looks like new piston, but the cylinder head is pretty chewed, could l possabley just dress it with a dremel or will this mess up the compression.

Any chance of a photo of a clearer view? and one of the piston!
initially looks like either a detonation problem fueling / ignition or maybe a foreign object has had a little party in your combustion chamber.....

heres the piston, found a small bit of a piston ring in the crank case which must be from the piston 3 re-builds ago as this piston is not missing any ring and the last piston was,nt ethier. its bloody anoying that it lurked in there all this time especaily when l filled the crank case up with petrol and and turned it up side down to washed the crank case out last time as well as pokeing a strong magnet down there.

Sorry, all 3 pics are badly out of focus, if you camera is autofocus make sure it is on "auto", I would have thought a new piston /ring, and dress the head with a dremel should do it, you don't want to remove more metal than needed (for compression reasons) but make sure there is no contact from the piston to the head when the engine turns over, try turning it over with no spark plug by hand to feel for contact at tdc on the cylinder.
